Senate field hearing on law enforcement next week

The Senate Indian Affairs Committee is holding a field hearing next Monday, March 17, on law and order in Indian Country.

The committee has been consulting tribes about law enforcement issues on reservations. Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-North Dakota), the chairman, issued a concept paper last November that could lead to comprehensive legislation.

The field hearing takes place on the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Reservation. More details will be provided.
