The Quechan Nation has received a $600,000 grant from the state of Arizona to create a nature park.
Construction on the Quechan Nature Park is expected to begin in April or May. The 4.5-acre site will feature an amphitheater, park ramada, grass and a restored nature area.
The grant from Arizona State Parks supplements $600,000 in funding from the city of Yuma and the Yuma Crossing National Heritage Area.
