Oklahoma Hall of Fame to induct Choctaw chief

Choctaw Nation Chief Greg Pyle will be inducted into the Oklahoma Hall of Fame this evening.

Pyle became chief in 1997, after 13 years as assistant chief. His biography cites his service on the National Indian Health Board and the Oklahoma Area Indian Health Board and his efforts to improve education and health for his tribe.

Pyle will be presented by Rep. Dan Boren (D-Oklahoma), whose district includes the Choctaw Nation. Eight people are being inducted tonight at the ceremony in Oklahoma City.
