Mashantucket Tribe elects two women to council

Voters of the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut went to the polls on Saturday to choose two council members.

Voters re-elected Marjorie Colbut-Jackson and chose newcomer Maureen Sebastian. Each will serve three-year terms.

The seven-member tribal council has three women on board. The five other council positions were not up for election.
