Native actors finding fewer roles in Hollywood

Native American roles in Hollywood fell from 0.4 percent in 2005 to 0.2 percent in 2006, the Screen Actors Guild reported on Monday.

Native losses were seen in theatrical low budget and non-episodic television roles. A gain was seen in theatrical features.

Native actors were 0.1 percent of lead roles and 0.4 percent of supporting roles, according to the data. Overall, 89 roles were available to Native Americans last year.
