Navajo manager pleaded guilty to domestic violence

The general manager for the Navajo Nation's agribusiness pleaded guilty this month to a domestic violence incident.

Tsosie Lewis of the Navajo Agricultural Products Industry was arrested after striking a family member in the face on September 25. He spent two days in jail in San Juan County, New Mexico and was later sentenced to supervised probation for a year.

The incident occurred a few days before Lewis was honored as the grand marshal of the Shiprock Navajo Fair. He has been reprimanded and placed on probation by the NAPI board of directors.
