Jacoby Ellsbury, the first Navajo major league baseball player, has become someone to watch as the Boston Red Sox finish one of their best seasons in over a decade.
Ellsbury, who just turned 24, has wowed fans with his hitting, pitching and field skills. He's won the respect of his teammates, who secured a spot in the American League Championship Series.
But the pressure doesn't seem to be affecting Ellsbury much. "You just got to take it slow. I think the biggest thing is first trusting your abilities on the field," he told The Farmington Daily Times.
Ellsbury is a member of the Colorado River Indian Tribes of Arizona, which is made up of the Mohave, Chemehuevi, Hopi and Navajo descendants.
