Judge raises bond for Navajo student in murder case

A judge in Arizona raised the bond for a Navajo student who is accused of murdering her college roommate.

The bond for Galareka Harrison, 18, was raised from $50,000 to $500,000. Harrison could return to the Navajo Nation if she is released, the judge said.

Harrison is charged with first-degree murder charge in the September 5 stabbing of Mia Henderson, who was 18 and also Navajo. The two were first-year roommates at the University of Arizona.

Henderson's parents wanted the judge to rise the bond. Prosecutors wanted it as high as $1 million.
