
Photo: United Tribes Technical College. The United Tribes Technical College in North Dakota held its annual International Powwow over the weekend. The three-day powwow attracted drummers, dancers, spectators and politicians to the college's campus in Bismarck. Veterans were honored in a special ceremony that was attended by Rep. Earl Pomeroy (D-North Dakota), who helped pass a bill to award the Medal of Honor to the late Woodrow Keeble of the Sisseton Wahpeton Sioux Tribe. Shere Lynn Wright, a member of the Rosebud Sioux Tribe of South Dakota, was crowned Miss Indian Nations. The 26-year-old student at Sinte Gleska University will serve as a cultural ambassador for one year. Get the Story:
