Rosebud Sioux Tribe gives star quilt to Sen. Johnson

The Rosebud Sioux Tribe gave a star quilt to Sen. Tim Johnson (D-South Dakota) for his first public appearance since suffering a brain hemorrhage last December.

The star quilt graced the left side of the stage used by Johnson in Sioux Falls on Tuesday. It featured a rainbow-colored star on a sky blue background.

Johnson thanked South Dakota for supporting him during his recovery. He was brought to the stage in a wheelchair but stood up on his own for his speech.

Johnson is a member of the Senate Indian Affairs Committee.
