The Cowlitz Tribe of Washington is receiving positive reviews for its health clinic as it undertakes a major expansion.
Last week, the clinic received accreditation from the Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care.
The rating demonstrates the clinic's quality of care, manager Steve Kutz, a tribal member, said.
Accreditation came as the clinic added its first full-time doctor and expanded services for non-Indians.
The clinic will soon move into a bigger building next door.
About half of the patients come from members of other federally recognized tribes. Kutz said the clinic is the only Indian health facility in southwestern Washington.
