The Yakama Nation of Washington might find a concrete plant that has resumed work on the reservation despite a stop work order.
Bub Mills, the tribe's water code director, said Central Pre-Mix could face $5,000 a day in fines for unpermitted work. But he said the tribe is taking a wait and see approach.
The company says the tribe lacks jurisdiction over the site. The two sides plan to meet next week to discuss the issue.
The tribe wants Central Pre-Mix to receive a water permit for a mining operation.
