Skokomish Tribe reaches land deal with state

The Skokomish Tribe and the state of Washington have agreed to a land swap.

The tribe will receive 64 acres from the state parks department. The tribe will use the land for a much-needed housing development.

In exchange, the tribe will buy a private RV resort and turn it over to the state. The tribe will also allow public access to tidelands that are part of the deal.

The land is located near the popular Potlatch State Park in Hood Canal.
