Julia Blackhawk Kreider, a member of the Winnebago Tribe of Nebraska, was one of the victims of the bridge collapse in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
Kreider, whose has been reported as 32 or 33, was a mother of two boys. She was on her way home when the I-35 West bridge collapsed on Wednesday evening. Her sons would have been with her but they were visiting relatives in Chicago.
Julia's uncle, John Blackhawk, a tribal council member, said she was taking classes at the University of Minnesota. A friend said she was also studying at the Aveda Institute.
Funeral services are taking place Sunday on the Winnebago Reservation.
