'Wounded Knee' lands 17 Emmy nominations

The HBO movie “Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee” landed 17 Emmy nominations this morning, more than any other television production.

Despite the large number, lead actor Adam Beach did not receive a nomination. Aidan Quinn, who portrayed Senator Henry Dawes, and August Schellenberg, who portrayed Sitting Bill, received nods in the "Outstanding Supporting Actor In A Miniseries Or A Movie " category.

Anna Paquin, who played Beach's wife, Elaine Goodale, was nominated for "Outstanding Supporting Actress In A Miniseries Or A Movie." The rest of the nominations were technical in nature except for a nod in the "Outstanding Made For Television" category.
