Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe shares rescue boat

The Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts recently acquired a rescue boat that it will share with the town of Chilmark.

The tribe and the town agreed to keep the boat at a town dock. The town will use it for harbor patrols and will help pay for maintenance and insurance costs. The tribe will use it for emergency services.

The tribe's natural resources department acquired the boat through a federal surplus program from the US Coast Guard.
