Former U.S. Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor will participate in a Cherokee Nation
youth forum on Saturday.
O'Connor is a guest panelist at the Leadership Forum for Indian Youth and Families. The event takes place on the campus of Sequoyah Schools, near Tahlequah.
“The Cherokee Nation would like to extend an invitation to the public to come out and listen to this forum,” said Principal Chief Chad Smith in a statement. “We feel it will be a learning experience for both participants and spectators. We are honored to have Sandra Day O’Connor to help us explore the idea of leadership and provide insight into her own life experiences and accomplishments.”
O'Connor is currently in Oklahoma to take part in the Sovereignty Symposium. She is being honored this afternoon.
