Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation plans land swap

The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut and the town of Ledyard are proposing a land swap that some residents are questioning.

The tribe wants to swap a 102-acre former diary farm for the 76-acre Indiantown Park in Ledyard. The park is located next to the reservation.

Town leaders who support the swap say the town will be getting a valuable piece of land. The park is not being used or maintained.

But residents are worried the tribe will try to take the park into trust. They also say the town doesn't know the real value of the land.
