A member of the Chippewa Cree Tribe of Montana was charged with five counts related to a high-speed police chase.
Curtis Denny, 22, faces two felony counts and three misdemeanor charges in state court. He is accused of firing at a Bureau of Indian Affairs officers during an incident in which he eluded police on and off the Rocky Boy Reservation.
Tribal investigators are trying to determine if any of the shots were fired on the reservation. If so, they are likely to ask the U.S. Attorney's Office to bring charges against Denny.
A second man in the car, Macray Demontiney, 18, who is also a tribal member, is not facing charges at this time.
