Gordon Belcourt, the executive director of the Montana-Wyoming Tribal Leaders Council, will receive an honorary doctorate from the University of Montana.
Belcourt, a member of the Blackfeet Nation, was selected for his accomplishments. He has served on the National Indian Health Board, the Indian health board in Montana and Wyoming, the Council of Large Land-Based Tribes, the American Indian Commission on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse and a judge for his tribe.
Belcourt will participate in commencement activities on May 12.
