A man who claims membership in the Little Shell Pembina Band of North America says he doesn't recognize the authority of courts in Texas.
Vincent Dale Ross, 52, was pulled over multiple times for driving with Pembina-issued license plates. But he refuses to enter pleas on the charges and has been thrown in jail and held in contempt of court.
The Pembina band has been linked to various insurance, immigration and financial scams across the nation. The Anti-Defamation League considers it to be an "extremist" group.
The group is not affiliated with the Little Shell Chippewa, a legitimate tribe from Montana.
