Janice Grant, a member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, was convicted of second-degree murder.
Grant, 30, stabbed her 24-year-old boyfriend Erasmo Porter with a kitchen knife in July. She claimed Porter was threatening her.
The incident occurred on the Omaha Reservation. Sentencing takes place in March 2008.
