Voters of the Aquinnah Wampanoag Tribe of Massachusetts ousted chairman Donald Widdiss on Sunday.
Cheryl Andrew-Maltais, the tribe's historic preservation officer, defeated Widdiss, who had served as chairman three times.
Also elected were secretary Eleanor Hebert and council members Naomi Carney and Durwood Vanderhoop, all of whom ran unopposed.
The tribe recently entered into a partnership with the Seneca Nation of New York to pursue a commercial casino.
