Native Americans were 17 percent of all people tasered by police in Sioux City, Iowa, according to a new report.
Native Americans are only 2 percent of the city's population. Activist Frank LaMere, a member of the Winnebago Tribe, says police are picking on Native people.
"If they read between the lines the information we received bears a lot of scrutiny and to me, it's somewhat scary," LaMere tells KMEG-TV.
Police Chief Joe Frisbie said Native Americans aren't being singled out. Overall, city police used the taser 70 times, out of 9,000 arrests, last year.
