The Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation of Connecticut is proposing to develop a former park it acquired in a land swap.
The tribe wants to use the 78-acre former Indiantown Park and other parcels it owns for a "resort commercial cluster district," The Norwich Bulletin reports. A total of 187 acres are at issue.
The proposed rezoning would allow the tribe to develop something along the lines of a water park and a resort.
The tribe has signed a deal with Great Wolf Resorts for such a project.
The land is located in the town of Preston. The tribe apparently does not want to have the properties placed in trust.
