The California Legislature has approved a resolution to designate a highway for the Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians.
Highway 154 has been designated the "Chumash Highway." The highway stretches 30 miles in historic Chumash territory.
Caltrans will be working with the tribe to place signs on the highway with the new designation.
