The Ute Mountain Ute Tribe of Colorado dedicated the Laura Brown Women, Infants and Children Program Building on Tuesday.
The building is named in honor of Laura Brown, a popular former director of the WIC program. She died in 2002 of a brain aneurysm at 48.
A grant from the Department of Agriculture paid for the center. It will be part of a "health quadrant," where the tribe plans to build a health center.
