Two Nebraska tribes were recognized for improving health care by the Centers for Medical Services.
The Medicare "A Healthier US" bus tour stopped at the Winnebago Reservation. Officials said the Winnebago Hospital has made improvements in preventive health programs, such as diabetes, dental care and nutrition.
The bus then headed to the neighboring Omaha Reservation. There, the Omaha Tribe was recognized for education and awareness programs at the Carl T. Curtis Health Center.
The Winnebago Hospital serves both the Winnebago and Omaha tribes.
