University of Central Oklahoma hosts powwow

Native students at the University of Central Oklahoma hosted their 37th annual powwow on Saturday.

More than 300 people attended the event, which was sponsored by the Native American Student Association and Multicultural Student Services. Spectators enjoyed dancers, drum groups and vendors at the Hamilton Field House.

About 5 percent of the student population at UCOK is Native American.
