Seminole Tribe buys big property for $13.2M

The Seminole Tribe of Florida has purchased 752 acres for $13.2 million but has no plans for a casino or a game reserve, a spokesperson said.

The land is in North Lakeland. It was sold to the tribe on December 5 by Harper Properties Inc., which had bought the property for $9.5 million that same day.

No reason was given for the markup but a tribal spokesperson said there are no plans for developing the site. The land is zoned low-density residential use and is part of a special swamp protection area.
