A new Class III gaming compact for the Sycuan Band of the Kumeyaay Nation saw its first hearing in the California Legislature on Wednesday.
The agreement allows the tribe to install slot machines at a second location. But a spokesperson said that discussion is further down the line.
"We're focused on improvements to our existing facility and other amenities that we may be able to offer for our customers at that location," Adam Day told KPBS.
The agreement
updates the compact that was signed in 1999. It runs through 2040.
