Tohono O'odham Nation could expand scope of casino project
Tuesday, November 8, 2011
The Tohono O'odham Nation of Arizona could expand the size of its proposed off-reservation casino.
The tribe limited the West Valley Resort to 54 acres due to litigation in the state courts. But now that the tribe has won the case, the entire 135-acre site would be available for development.
Tribal leaders are "reviewing their options," a spokesperson told The Arizona Republic.
The tribe is still waiting for the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals to hear a different lawsuit filed by opponents.
