The Guidiville Band of Pomo Indians wants to build a $1.2 billion Point Molate casino. The Bureau of Indian Affairs has released a draft environmental impact statement and environmental impact report on the project. The casino is going before voters in an advisory referendum this November. Incumbent Mayor Gayle McLaughlin opposes the proposal while Nathaniel Bates supports it. But the Times doesn't name the Guidiville Band in its report .It only mentions the developer -- James D. Levine.
