The Seneca Nation of New York is almost done with a $26 million casino renovation project.
The tribe showed off the updated gaming floor at the Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel on Wednesday. There's more space for patrons, new furnishings, brighter lighting and a $6 million air quality system.
"Seneca Niagara Casino & Hotel has set the standard for excitement and entertainment for tens of millions of visitors from throughout the northeast United States and southern Ontario," Cathy Walker, the president and CEO of Seneca Gaming Corp., said in a press release. "By reinvesting in and reinventing our main gaming floor, we hope to offer our guests an entirely new escape here in the heart of Niagara Falls."
With most of the gaming floor work complete, the tribe will be focusing on a new bar, dance floor and entertainment stage. The project should be done by spring 2014.
The casino opened 11 years ago on New Year's Eve.
