The Wyandotte Nation has started a $30 million expansion at its casino in Oklahoma.

The tribe is adding 25,000 square-feet to the Wyandotte Nation Casino. The project will double the size of the 20,000 square-foot facility.

“We look forward to an exciting new era at Wyandotte Nation Casino,” Chief Bill Friend said at the groundbreaking, The Joplin Globe reported.

The expansion includes an entertainment venue, a bowling alley, a billiards room and meeting space. Other parts of the facility are also being renovated.

"The project creates a more modern design for the casino and space for new features, such as a bowling alley, club, entertainment venue and more," the tribe said on its website. "When completed, the Wyandotte Nation Casino will offer an experience for patrons like no other in the region."

The entire project will be complete in about a year. The tribe will be hiring about 30 people.

The tribe also operates a Class II facility in Kansas.
