The Forest County Potawatomi Tribe claims it will lose jobs if the Menominee Nation opens an off-reservation casino in Wisconsin

The Potawatomis operate an off-reservation casino in Milwaukee. The Menominees want to open a casino in Kenosha, about 40 miles away.

“We, and the city of Milwaukee, will lose approximately 3,000 jobs,” Jeff Crawford, the Potawatomi attorney general, said on UpFront with Mike Gousha.

The Menominee has local support but opposition from the Potawatomis likely means Gov. Scott Walker (R), who has said all 11 tribes must come to a consensus, will veto the project.
