A second town in Connecticut plans to cash in on taxes from non-Indian gaming vendors that do business with the Mohegan Tribe.
The town in Montville expects $129,000 from companies that lease slot machines at Mohegan Sun. The taxes had been on hold until the 2nd Circuit Court of Appeals determined that they do not violate the Indian
Gaming Regulatory Act or infringe on tribal sovereignty.
The ruling came in a case involving the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Nation and a different town.
But the same principle appears to apply in Montville.
