Supervisors in Mendocino County, California, will take up a casino agreement with the Pinoleville Pomo Nation at a meeting tonight.
The tribe signed a Class III gaming compact with Gov. Jerry Brown (D) in August 2011. As part of the agreement, the tribe has to address off-reservation impacts of its casino.
The tribe is planning a 26,000 square-foot casino with 349 slot machines, 10 table games, a restaurant, a bar and lounge, a deli, a retail shop and other amenities.
Phase two could include a larger facility with more gaming machines and a hotel.
The tribe has agreed to pay the county for law enforcement and fire services at the casino and to make payments in lieu of taxes.
