St. Regis Mohawk Tribe highlights benefits of casino business

Gaming has boosted the economy in upstate New York, leaders of the St. Regis Mohawk Tribe said.

Employment on the reservation grew from 956 in 2003 to 1,616 in 2012. Wages paid to non-Indian employees alone totaled $22 million last year, the tribe said.

The tribe recently debuted a $75 million casino expansion.
