The Cheyenne and Arapaho
Tribes of Oklahoma signed a new Class III gaming compact that addresses Internet gaming.
The compact requires the tribe to shut down Poker Tribes, its free play gaming site. But the tribe plans to open a new site on the international market and agreed to share 20 percent of revenues with the state.
"The settlement agreement effectively shuts down the tribes online social gaming network, including Pokertribes.com, inside the United States in exchange for an agreement that the tribes be allowed to operate the site internationally pursuant to international standards and each specific country’s jurisdictional requirements consistent with all state of Oklahoma and U.S. federal laws," Gov. Janice Prairie-Chief Boswell said in a press release, The Oklahoma Watchdog reported.
The tribe also signed a new burn ban compact and renewed its tobacco taxation compact.
