A group called Stop the North Fork Compact Coalition is trying to block a casino for the North Fork Rancheria of Mono Indians.

The tribe won state and federal approval for a $350 million off-reservation casino. Opponents are trying to prevent state lawmakers from ratifying a Class III gaming compact for the project.

The coalition includes rival tribes, local officials and community groups.
