The Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians could open a second Class III facility, along with a hotel, on the reservation.

The tribe runs the successful Harrah’s Cherokee Casino and Resort. A compact that was finalized last year authorized live card dealers in exchange for a share of the revenues.

A new facility would offer the same types of games. The tribe would spend $110 million on the development if plans are approved by the council.

The tribe had been considering a Class II facility at a different location. Plans shifted to Class III gaming when a different plot of land came up for consideration.
