The Bureau of Indian Affairs has extended the comment period on the Spokane Tribe off-reservation casino.

The BIA issued the final environmental impact statement for the West Plains Mixed-Use Development on February 1. Comments are now being accepted until May 1.

If the BIA approves the project, the Gov. Jay Inslee (D) will be able to veto it under the two-part determination provisions of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act. He hasn't stated his position on the casino.
