The state of New York is providing $2.5 million to the city of Salamanca to make up for the loss in Seneca Nation gaming revenues.
The tribe has withheld $572 million from the state in a dispute over exclusivity provisions in the Class III gaming compact. Some of that money would have gone to communities that are affected by the tribe's casinos.
Salamanca has lost about $20 million as a result of the dispute.
The stated fronted the city $5 million in 2011.
