Mashpee Wampanaog Tribe to offset losses to charity bingo

The Mashpee Wampanoag Tribe has agreed to offset losses to charity bingo operations in Taunton, Massachusetts.

Charities will still be able to offer bingo games in Taunton. But the tribe agreed to cover any losses, plus pay another 5 percent, for each year that its casino is in operation.

The city will provide a list of charity operations to the tribe as part of an intergovernmental agreement.
