Rep. Cathy McMorris Rodgers (R-Washington) is asking the Bureau of Indian Affairs to delay a decision on the
Spokane Tribe
off-reservation casino.
The BIA issued the final environmental impact statement for the West Plains Mixed-Use
Development on February 1.
The comment period closes next week but McMorris Rodgers is asking for another 45 days in order for officials in Spokane County to register objections.
The county was barred from expressing a position on the casino under an agreement with the tribe.
But the agreement was dissolved last month.
