The Florida Legislature is requesting proposals for a two-part study on the gaming industry.

The Invitation to Negotiate calls for a detailed analysis of the Seminole Tribe. The study must examine whether to extend the tribe's Class III gaming compact, which expires in 2015.

"Gaming is a well-established business sector in Florida," Sen. Garrett Richter (R) said in a memo.

The study is to be completed by October 1.
