Spokane County in Washington is officially against the
Spokane Tribe off-reservation casino.
The county passed a resolution against the project after withdrawing from an agreement with the tribe and the city of Airway Heights, where the casino would be located.
The deal prevented the county from taking a stance on the tribe's land-into-trust application.
The Bureau of Indian Affairs has
published a draft environmental impact statement on the tribe's West Plains Mixed-Use
Development project.
The casino will require the approval of the state governor.
