Graton Rancheria puts hundreds to work for $825M casino build

The Federated Indians of Graton Rancheria of California has put at least 150 people to work on its $825 million casino.

Most of the construction workers belong to local unions. Upwards of 750 jobs will be created during the course of the project.

"We go, we take one step at a time,” Chairman Greg Sarris told The Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. β€œIt was never a dream for us; it was a reality.”

The casino is expected to open in late 2013.
