Catskills weighs effects of Mohawk election
TUESDAY, JUNE 10, 2003
Residents of the Catskills said they were unsure how the recent St. Regis Mohawk election will affect the tribe's off-reservation casino.
According to news accounts, the new slate of leaders opposes a $100 million land and gaming settlement the tribe recently entered into with the state.
Catskills officials say it's too early to tell what will happen.
